Bridge Club
The drop in bridge club meets every Monday and Thursday from 1pm-3pm in the Activity Center at Watson Trail Park. New members are always welcome!

Chess Club
The chess club meets in the Watson Trail Park Activity Center on Tuesday mornings from 10am-noon. Beginners or advanced players are invited to join in the fun!

Fishing at the Park
The 1 acre lake at Watson Trail Park is open for fishing. It is stocked once a year. A state fishing licence is not required. The fee is governed by the honor system which is $2 for adults and $1 for children and seniors. Limit is 3 fish per day. Minnows are not allowed as bait.
Fishing on the Meramac River at Minnie Ha Ha Park requires a state fishing license and is governed by the MO Conservation guidelines.

Workout Classes
Classes are taught by Artie Heizer, National Certified Personal Trainer, Yoga & Pilates Instructor. Purchase a punch card for $100 to attend ANY 10 classes you want! Outdoor Exercise (Tuesday & Thursday 8:15am - 9:15am). People of all fitness levels are welcome to participate!!  Yoga (Monday 10am-11am) and Pilates (Wednesday 10-11am) will also be included in the classes to choose from.  

Water Aerobics
This shallow water, total body, guided exercise class is designed to increase cardiovascular endurance, muscle tone, and flexibility in a refreshing and friendly atmosphere. Participants will be encouraged to work at their own pace. All exercise equipment will be provided. Classes will be held at Days Inn Tues, Wed, & Thurs 8:30am - 9:30am. Each punch card entitles you to ANY 9 classes (morning or evening). Residents: $60 Non-residents: $70

Family Dinner Nights & Movies/Concerts at the Pool
Join us on Thursday nights for Family Dinner and Entertainment! July1st-July29th at the pool!  A delicious meal will be available to purchase for $5 for adults and $4 for a child.  Bring your whole family and enjoy a relaxing evening at the pool.  For more information call the pool front desk at 314-842-7946.

Day Camp
Fee: Res: $80/week  Non-Res: $120/week
Every child registering in 3 week increments will receive a discount of $5.00 per week.  You must sign up the Wednesday prior to the week you are wanting to come to camp, otherwise there will be a $25 late fee charged.

Swimming Lessons
Swim lessons are offered for ages 4 and up.  In order to optimize lesson time, on the first day of lessons, your child will be evaluated and placed into appropriate group.  Classes meet Monday-Thursday from 10:20am - 11:00am for 2 weeks.
Fee: Res: $60/session  Non-Res: $70/session
Session 4: July 26th-August 5th
Session 5: July 26th-August 5th (evenings) 7:00pm-8:00pm

National Night Out
Come out to the pool on August 3rd from 6-10pm to celebrate with family!  There will be food, games and a DJ, so don't forget your dancing shoes!  Admission to the pool is free!

Scrapbooking Crop-Fest
Calling scrappers of all skill levels!  Come out to the Activity center and enjoy an evening with fellow scrappers!  Chat and share ideas while getting all those amazing memories down on paper!  Snacks, prizes, and tool sharing will all be available!  Space is limited to 16 scrappers, so make sure and reserve your spot today!

Tennis Lesson
The City of Sunset Hills and Beginner's World Tennis will once again offer Tennis Lessons at Watson Trail Park.  Saturdays August 7th-28th

Age 12+: 10:30am-11:30am - $44

3,2,1, Blast Off!
This action packed week will focus solely on rockets and the physics of rocket flight, mission control, rocket propulsion and recover, and launching!  After learning the model rocket safety code, campers will build ten different types of rockets and participate in the launching of 6 different rockets during the week long program!  This camp is recommended for children ages 7-12, however younger children enjoy it as well with a little help from fellow campers or instructors.

Golf Lessons
The City of Sunset Hills, along with Sunset Lakes Driving Range, will be offering Golf Lessons for anyone 15 years old and above!  Come learn all the exciting techniques and be on your way to teeing off with the best of 'em!  Classes will be taught by Golf Pro Kiran Kanwar.  Fee includes lessons, practice balls, and rental clubs.

Fishing Derby
On August 12th form 6:00-7:30pm anglers of all ages may compete for trophies awarded for the smallest, largest, and most fish caught.  Fishing is done at the lake in Watson Trail Park.

Grow it & Show it Deadline
To recognize the efforts of resident fruit and vegetable gardening, the Parks and Recreation Department is holding a contest for largest produce.  Gardeners should bring in their largest tomato, zucchini, watermelon, cucumber, and/or cabbage to the park office to have it weighed.  The deadline is August 13th!  Cash prizes will be awarded to the winner of the largest of each category.

Parents, what would you do with three kid free hours?!  The City of Sunset Hills is offering parents the opportunity to have a few hours to themselves at an affordable price!  Go out to dinner, a movie, or just go back home for some R&R!  Whatever the plan, take ease in knowing your children our in good hands!  Snacks and games provided! Space is limited to 15 kids.

Drive In Movie
Tired of paying a small fortune to take the family out for a night at the movies?  Do you remember the times when you got to go watch a movie on the big screen from the comfort of your own lawn chair and looking up at the starlit night with a monster size tub of heavily buttered popcorn?  Well, pack up the kids and your lawn chairs because Sunset Hills Parks & Recreation Department is bringing the drive-in movie back into business!  Movie is to be announced!
September 10th - Gates open at 6pm
Fee: $10/vehicle in advance  $15/ vehicle at the gate

Private Hayrides
Call the park office to book your own private hayride!  The Parks & Recreation Department will be offering private hayrides beginning September 18th through November 13th.  The hay wagon will hold approximately 25 people.  All rides last approximately thirty minutes.  A fun event for your church scout troop!
Residents: $55
Non-Residents: $75

Garage Sale
The Fall Garage Sale will be held on September 25th.  Those wishing to participate as sellers may get on the list by calling or coming into the park office.  The list of individuals having a garage sale will be given out starting at 8am that morning at the Parking lot of City Hall.

Halloween Hayride
On Friday October 8th the City of Sunset Hills will be providing a fun and safe evening of Halloween fun!  There will be haunted hayrides, food, games, and more!  Tickets must be obtained before the day of the event!  Make sure to check your city newsletter or call the park office for more details on when tickets will be available.  Don't delay, tickets go fast!!

South Pacific Wonders (March 28th-April 11, 2011)
The City of Sunset Hills Parks & Recreation Department and Collette Vacations presents South Pacific Wonders!  This 15 day adventure will include 20 meals (12 breakfast, 2 lunches, and 6 dinners).  Highlights of the trip will include Cairns, The Great Barrier Reef, Sydney, Christchurch, Mount Cook National Park, Queenstown, and Milford Sound.  Cost includes round trip airfare from Lambert Airport and hotel accommodations.  A $250/person deposit is due on January 27, 2011.  A complete itinerary is available at the Park Office.

Private Hayrides

Holiday Lighting Contest
Light up the city this Holiday season by entering the Sunset Hills Holiday Lighting contest!  You may enter your own home, a business, or even your neighbor by calling the Parks and Recreation Office.  Registration deadline is December 10th.  Homes and businesses will be judged by the Parks Board on December 14th.  Please be sure your lights are on that evening by 6:00pm.  Awards will be given for the following categories: Business; Spirit of Christmas; Winter Wonderland; Christmas for kids; Traffic Stopper; and Classic Christmas.

Lunch with Santa
Santa Claus will be hosting a lunch on December 11th from 11:30am-1:00pm.  There will be food, snacks, and drinks.  After lunch Santa will be available so that parents can take a picture of their children with him.  Space is limited so call the Parks and Recreation Department to save your spot!
