Issues, Studies and Projects

In 2007, the City of Sunset Hills entered into a contract with Cole and Associates to study concerns with respect to the creek that runs from behind Laumeier Office Park, across Rott Rd. through I-270, along West Watson, past Weber Hill, supplies the open lake for Tapawingo, traverses through Sunset Lakes Golf Course, goes past Highway 30 and Old Gravois and empties into the Meramec River. The City has a network of 7 bridges associated with the road network over this tributary that this study will supply hydrologic information toward for potential bridge replacement projects contemplated. To date, Cole has supplied the City with the Final Report of their findings regarding the condition of this tributary

Also in 2007, the City of Sunset Hills entered into a contract with CDG Engineers to look at the Mattese Tributary that runs from Highway 30 by Sunset Ford through Sappington Barracks, behind homes on Joan, crossing Doverhill and eventually Sappington Rd. There are branches of this tributary that run behind homes on Helta associated with this tributary too. There were 2 Public Meetings held to get resident input on the problems associated with the existing condition of these tributaries.

We have an online PDF file of a questionaire regarding stormwater concerns. You can print this out and mail or drop it off at City Hall for your input regarding stormwater concerns throughout the community.

Here is a link to that PDF copy of the Stormwater Questionaire.

If you have specific questions about these projects you would like to send to the City Engineer/Director of Public Works, Anne Lamitola, PE, you can e-mail her at
