Zoning Procedures
Meeting Dates
- P&Z Commission – first Wednesday of every month at 7:30pm
- Board of Aldermen – second Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm
- Board of Adjustment – fourth Thursday of every month at 7:00pm
Submittal Deadlines
- P&Z Submittals - by 5:00pm the day after the second Tuesday, the month prior to the P&Z meeting.
- Board of Adjustment - by 5:00pm, twenty days prior to the Board of Adjustment meeting.
Petition for Amendment of Zoning Regulations
- Petition, Filing Fee and other documents need to be filed with the Public Works Department
- Review by City Hall staff then submittal of (20) sets of drawings and documents
- Review and recommendation from P&Z Commission
- Public Hearing by the Board of Aldermen
- First Reading of Ordinance to amend Zoning Regulations by the Board of Aldermen
- Second Reading of Ordinance to amend Zoning Regulations by the Board of Aldermen
Petition for a Change of Zoning
- Petition, Filing Fee, Legal Description, (3) sets of plans and other documents to be filed with the Public Works Department
- Review by City Hall staff then submittal of (20) sets of drawings and documents
- Review and recommendation from P&Z Commission
- Public Hearing by the Board of Aldermen
- First Reading of Ordinance to amend Zoning Regulations by the Board of Aldermen
- Second Reading of Ordinance to amend Zoning Regulations by the Board of Aldermen
Concept Plan Submittal
- Petition, Filing Fee, Legal Description, (3) sets of plans and other documents to be filed with the Public Works Department
- Review by City Hall staff then submittal of (20) sets of drawings and documents
- Review and recommendation from P&Z Commission
- Approval, disapproval or approval with modifications by the Board of Aldermen
Preliminary Plan Submittal
- Petition, Filing Fee, Legal Description, (3) sets of plans and other documents to be filed with the Public Works Department
- Review by City Hall staff then submittal of (20) sets of drawings and documents
- Review and written report from P&Z Commission
- Written report probably available at least (6) days before the Public Hearing
- Public Hearing by the Board of Aldermen
- First Reading of Ordinance to amend Zoning Regulations by the Board of Aldermen
- Second Reading of Ordinance to amend Zoning Regulations by the Board of Aldermen
Final Development Plan
- Petition, Filing Fee, Legal Description, (3) sets of plans and other documents to be filed with the Public Works Department
- Review by City Hall staff then submittal of (20) sets of drawings and documents
- Review and recommendation from P&Z Commission
- Public Hearing by the Board of Aldermen

Amended Development Plan

- Public Hearing by the Board of Aldermen
