    John B. Bannon St. Louis Pastor, Confederate Chaplain and International Diplomat James M. Gallen is a St Louis attorney and member of Evans & Dixon, LLC, concentrating his practice in the defense of all types of workers’ compensation cases. He also has personal experience in ministry, law and education. He is a current and longtime lecturer at Meramec Community College on a variety of historical subjects. Irish priest, John B. Bannon, ordained in 1853, came to the US and was stationed at St. John the Apostle Church in St. Louis. His life changed once the Civil War began, and he left his post in St. Louis and joined the Confederate Army as a Chaplain. He ministered at many familiar battles such as Vicksburg. He was also a secret emissary to the Pope on behalf of the Confederacy.
