POOL INFORMATION
The Sunset Hills Swimming Pool, located at 12512 West Watson Road, opens on May 26th
and closes September 9th. The hours of the public swimming pool are as follows:
- Monday - Thursday 12:30 - 9:00pm
- Friday 12:30 - 7:00pm
- Saturday 11:00 - 7:00pm
- Sunday 11:00 - 9:00pm
Admission to the pool requires either a season pass or daily admission.

*Proof of Residency can be displayed by a Legal Drivers License, and /or ID card from Sunset Hills. An ID card can be obtained for free of charge at the Activity Center. An ID card will be required in order to receive resident rates.

For a unique entertaining idea, rent the pool for your family, school, church, or business party. Information on fees and reservations dates may be obtained by calling the Parks & Recreation Office at (314) 842-7265.

Summer Swim Lessons
There are several different levels of swim lessons offered. We provide swim lessons for students from the ages of six months old all the way through adulthood. The goal of the Swim Lesson Program is to providing effective swimming skill instruction.
The following is a list of the classes offered. Please select the class that best matches your needs.
Class (A) Tadpole
Infant/Parent Swim Class: This class is for children ages six months through three years. It is designed to develop a comfort level in the water for young children. The parent must join the child in the water during all classes.
Achievement Skills: Water entry, kicking on front and back, water adjustment, bubble blowing, arm movements, introduction to floating, and face submersion.
CLASS (B) Seahorse
This class is designed for preschool aged children and introduces children to beginning swimming skills.
Achievement Skills: Independent kicking, blowing bubbles, shallow water object retrieval, supported front and back float, introduction to arm strokes, jumping into water with assistance, and opening eyes underwater.
CLASS ( C ) Guppy
This class is for children ages four and over who can successfully accomplish Class B achievement skills.
Achievement Skills: Independent kick on front and back, arm movements, introduction to front glide, flutter kick, introduction to front crawl, sitting dive.
CLASS (D) Dolphin
This class is for individuals who can successfully complete the achievement skills taught in Class C.
Achievement Skills: Bobbing, unassisted front and back floats, independent front and back float with kick, front crawl, back crawl, jump into pool unassisted.
Free Swimming Lessons
For the first 25 children who register, we will be offering a FREE Swimming Lesson on:
June 16 - 30 from 9:15am-10:00am and July 14 - 28 from 9:15 - 10:00am.
Schedule
The classes will be held at 11:40 am until 12:45 pm. They will meet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, The classes are for two weeks.
Sessions are as follows:
Morning Classes
- Session 1 -June 4, 6, 8, 11 & 13
- Session 2-June 18, 20, 22, 25 & 27
- Session 3- July 9, 11, 13, 16 & 18
- Session 2 - July 23, 25, 27, 30 & August 1
Fees: Residents-$45, Non -Residents $50
Private Lessons
Private lessons are available for those requiring lessons better suited for their needs. Times can be scheduled to fit individual needs.
Fees are $15 for a 30 minute session.
Water Exercise
A relaxing and refreshing way to get into shape. Exercises are designed to improve flexibility, tone muscles, and improve the cardiovascular system. Each individual can work at his or her own pace. Because these exercises are done in shallow water, both swimmers and non-swimmers are welcome.
