The TIF Commission
The role of the TIF Commission is an advisory one. They have a function very similar to that of the City's Planning and Zoning Commission. The TIF Commission is the entity that holds the “official” public hearing on the redevelopment plan and project(s) that the City has under consideration. They must vote within 30 days following the public hearing making a recommendation to the Board of Aldermen regarding whether or not to adopt the redevelopment plan or approve a redevelopment project(s).
