05/07  How well do you know your Medications?  A community-based guide to support your medication regimen 
This session is designed for community-based seniors, or caregivers supporting a senior, family member, or individual with care needs.
This session will explore the topic of medications as a gateway along the healthcare journey.  This session will cover general medication basics, the process of safe administration (of medications), and community-based strategies to support those individuals in need.  As caregivers and advocates for your loved ones, family, and friends, this session will guide you in both maintaining and improving existing medication regimens. This seminar series is held at the Sunset Hills Community Center.

06/11  Summer Activity and Engagement for Independence
This session is designed for the community-based senior, or caregiver supporting a senior, family member, or individual with care needs.  
Activity and Engagement are central parts of maintaining Independence.  This session will take a fun look at creative activities, and focus on opportunities to boost engagement and maintain independence--summer style. 

 

07/09  Aging-In-Place Strategies To Maintain Independence
This session is designed for the community-based senior, or caregiver supporting a senior, family member, or individual with care needs.  
This session will explore the topic of aging-in-place:  what does it mean, and more importantly, what does it mean to you.  Are you wanting to be proactive about staying in your home? Have you had some recent health challenges which have prompted you to re-think the support needed to stay in your home?  Are you a caregiver or advocate for your loved ones, family, or friends?  In any of these situations, this session will guide you in maintaining independence in the community setting.  If this sounds like you or someone you know, this session will be a good fit for you.  

 

08/13  Cognition and Change:  Your 101 Guide To What It Means
This session is designed for the community-based senior, or caregiver supporting a senior, family member, or individual with care needs.  
This session will explore the basics of cognition, age-related changes, and what changes in cognition mean for you or a loved one.  Forgetfulness and changes in cognition can be subtle, and early recognition can be key to early intervention.  This session will guide you in gently approaching the conversation, with care, compassion, and community-based approaches to help you strategize potential next steps. 

 

09/10  Dementia-Dialogue:  A Dementia-related Guide to Care
This session is designed for the community-based senior, or caregiver supporting a senior, family member, or individual with care needs.  
Your loved one, or an individual in need is experiencing cognitive changes not yet diagnosed; or have been recently diagnosed with a type of dementia...now what?  This session is designed to guide you, provide support, and help you navigate the stages of this complex healthcare journey.  This session will include basic strategies, community-based approaches, and resources to help you and your loved one along this journey.
